Description
Marthandam a quaint little town in the southern tip of India has a century old history of Bee keeping.
Dr. Spencer Hatch started training locals in the art and craft of bee keeping in the year 1924. Recently the government of India awarded the GI tag for Marthandam honey recognising the hard work, the knowledge base and the craftsmanship of the bee keepers of Marthandam.
This dark amber honey has a unique floral taste with a sour and spicy after taste. Known for its healing properties, the honey is a staple in all the homes of Kanyakumari, now brought to the larger world by FreshmillOils.
